Experience Jewish history on this Berlin tour and travel through iconic sites of World War II. Visit the famous Humboldt University and an old bakery with a local taste sample. To start off we head for the "Palace of Tears" the name of which well learn the story behind. Well explore some historic sites where Jewish children were believed to be either rescued or more often sent to Poland to be killed in concentration camps. Then well head to the famous Humboldt University a place of research for more than 29 Nobel Prize winners. Afterwards we shall continue to the Museum Island a UNESCO World Heritage Site to visit some of its astonishing world class museums. Be surprised to discover the New Synagogue and hear a few stories about the so-called "Night of Broken Glass." Be ready to take some great pictures on the golden dome of the building - a stunning Berlin travel picture moment. Next well walk to the grave of the famous Jewish philosopher Moses Mendelssohn. Then well get to sample a traditional treat a hand-made "Berliner" in one old but famous family-run bakery whose owner once served as a bread baker during the war. In one of the few places in Berlin where it still remains as a symbol of the past we shall uncover the reasons and stories behind this famous landmark which was so deadly before 1989. You will hear of how the wall started as a barbed wire fence erected overnight and evolved to its final incarnation as an advanced multi-wall system that came to be a potent symbol of the Cold War.
